Support for children aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Preparing for adulthood - You said, we did - 2022

You said: You didn’t know who to speak to about preparing your child for adulthood

We did: Organised drop-in sessions in the daytime and evenings to speak to Preparing for Adulthood workers. Feedback suggested that this went well.

Parents and carers were also part of the process for creating and interviewing for the navigator role.

Preparing for Adulthood Navigator, has been rolling out training to Case Officers who will make Preparing for Adulthood part of annual reviews for those pupils in year 9 and above.

She will also attend meetings for those annual reviews and meetings where more guidance is required.

Since being in post the Preparing for Adulthood Navigator has built a good rapport with the young people and especially those who are not in education or training.

Feedback for the Preparing For Adulthood Navigator

“So...I was at my wits end. Endless discussions with my husband as to which way to go regarding our sons future. Her knowledge and understanding was a much needed relief …Thank you…for your continued support.
