Information for families in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

British Disabled Water Ski and Wakeboard Association

Teaches people with disabilities to water ski at Ellingham Wake Board and Skiing Lake, near Ringwood. Open to all with a disability, including wheelchair users. All equipment is provided free with expert, qualified tuition. No age restriction  - please contact Peter Viney for details. Open all summer

Whatever your disability, would you like to experience the freedom of the water and forget the restrictions of land?

Our aim is to introduce and inspire newcomers to the sport who, due to their disabilities, may not have considered such a challenge possible. Whether you are visually impaired, a limb amputee, in a wheelchair or have a learning disability we have the specialised equipment and guidance to help you water ski.

Our beginner and improver sessions are held on one Saturday and one Tuesday in the month from May until October on a beautiful lake in the New Forest.

Please bring a friend or carer if you need help with changing or hoisting. You will need to bring with you a swimming costume, tracksuit or similar clothing, plus a couple of towels. If you are usually transferred by hoist, please bring your own sling and carer. On hot sunny days ensure you bring adequate sun protection.
