Christchurch Learning Centre is a maintained Pupil Referral Unit which provides education for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school or are unable to sustain a full-time place in mainstream school due to medical-based needs. Pupils are referred for additional support via a number of professionals including the BCP Council Exclusions Team, Health Professionals and CAMHS, BCP Council LAC team and the BCP Council SEND team.
Provision is available across three sites:
Stour Road: This site enables us to provide for those pupils demonstrating behavioural challenges.
Stour Cottage: This site enables us to provide for those pupils demonstrating social, emotional, mental health challenges and SEND. This site is usually referred to by Health and SEN professionals for targeted or transitional work.
Muscliffe Park: This site will provide short-term, re-integration focused education and access to specialist support services for pupils who are on a mainstream roll but who are unable to attend or are at risk of permanent exclusion. The aim of which will be to address the barriers preventing pupils from attending and/or positively engaging with a mainstream education.
