Ad Astra Infant School is located in Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset.  The school is a three form entry school, from Reception to   Year 2.  Currently there are 270 children on roll.  The school was deemed to be 'Good' by Ofsted in January 2014. It is rated "Green" by Poole Local Authority (no concerns). Ofsted commented, " Ad Astra is a good school, where the behaviour of pupils is deemed outstanding and bullying is a rarity. 

There is a harmonious and supportive atmosphere and pupils go out of their way to help others. Pupils are relaxed, happy and socialise very successfully. Teamwork within the school is excellent and the Head Teacher and Assistant Heads inspire pupils and staff. Teaching is rarely less than good and is sometimes outstanding.  Parents and carers are very proud of the school".  Our aim is for the children of Ad Astra to become 'lifelong learners' and through our teaching and learning give them the necessary skills, qualities and attributes for their future life.
