Diverse Abilities is an independent, not for profit organisation working together with families in Dorset to help meet the needs of local people, of all ages, with physical and learning disabilities.

The Children's Team provides a range of services for children and young people with physical and/or learning disabilities and their families:

• Siblings can attend play sessions with their brother or sister while parents can benefit from various information and support services.
• Short breaks are offered during the weekend and overnight. 
• Practical support is offered in the home and out in the local community. 
• Holiday, weekend and after-school activities are available to ensure young people with disabilities live life to the full.
• We also provide day care for young people transitioning to adulthood.

A range of services are also available for adults: 

• Day time and evening activities
• Supported Living services
• `Reach Out' providing support in the home and in the community for adults with disabilities.
• The Beehive activity and therapy centre offering a range of opportunities.
• The Advice Team provide help and guidance for any benefit applications, appeals, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and more.
