We are launching a series of fun, public-facing inter-generational combined-arts workshops that bring the family together to be inspired by and explore the arts, learn and share new skills and build in confidence as artists. Families can choose from Group Ukulele, Artist Techniques and Traditional Crafts.
On Saturday 5th October we open our doors to existing members (age 6 – 14), their families and the wider Public for 12 consecutive Saturday’s, offering two 90-minute morning workshops each day and a couple bonus afternoon workshops for those who can’t do mornings, with an opportunity to peer-share work at the end of each workshop.
Workshops will be held at our Arts Education Centre and Studios in Boscombe; a safe, warm and welcoming space where all cultures, and abilities are invited to coalesce and create. Work created will be celebrated in a Christmas Exhibition/Bandstand Ukulele Performance to raise donations for our Charity and potential continuation, should the project bring the success that we hope for. We have our own Ukuleles x 30 that were bought with grant funding in 2021.
The project aims to help build family bonds, improve mental health and assist in early years development. The arts are healing, transformative, and evoke a sense of belonging and connectedness to community.
