Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre is the gateway to the Stour Valley Nature Reserve - the perfect day out for all the family. Discover the stunning riverside and encounter otters in the early morning, or the blue flash of Kingfishers during the day at this hidden gem in Muscliff, North Bournemouth. Breathe in the fresh air, enjoy being outside and walk, run or cycle along the riverside paths.
In the Visitor Centre itself, you can learn all about the Stour Valley Nature Reserve, its smuggling past, the flora and fauna and wildlife in the 'A-Z exhibition' or ask our friendly Rangers for a nature trail or walk leaflet before you head off to explore - what wildlife will you see on your journey this time?
Refuel after your walk with some tea and cake from 'Kingfisher Cafe' in our tranquil wildlife garden setting (Kingfisher Cafe is operated by the Bournemouth Parks Foundation, with profits going towards projects along the Stour Valley).
Join us for an event or two throughout the year: there is plenty happening for all ages, from pond-dipping and nature tots to crafts, music and our famous 'Cream tea Festival'. All the information can be found on our website.
The Visitor Centre is next to the car park at Granby Road (the postcode is BH9 3NZ).
