National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV)

The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) provides a free, fast emergency injunction service to survivors of domestic violence regardless of their financial circumstances, race, gender or sexual orientation.

Our award-winning service allows anyone who has recently suffered or been threatened with domestic violence to apply for an emergency court injunction. This can sometimes be issued within 24 hours of making contact with us. We work in close partnership with the police, solicitors and other support agencies (Refuge, Women's Aid etc) to help victims obtain speedy protection.

The NCDV service is free, fast and user-friendly, usually helping you obtain an emergency injunction within 24 hours from when you first contact us. The stages described below provide an outline of our usual procedure.

  • We assess your eligibility for an emergency injunction.
  • We identify the best course of action for your case.
  • A case worker will contact you to prepare an injunction for your case.
