Minor Injuries Unit and Accident and Emergency logo

The Emergency Department offers 24 hour, 7 days a week care to all. Patients can bring themselves to the unit or be brought in by the emergency services. Once in the unit staff will endeavour that patients be treated within a four hour time frame.

Minor Injuries Units (MIUs) are nurse-led units for anyone with a minor injury & some minor ailments.  You do not need to make an appointment, and patients are seen in order of clinical priority. Children and the elderly are often prioritised as urgent because of their specific needs.
