The Dorset Children's Foundation was set up in 2013 to support local disabled children by funding medical expenses, mobility equipment and therapies not covered by the NHS. We provide what is needed for a better quality of life.
The therapies, equipment and accessible for all activities that we provide improve the lives of children with disabilities, over and above pure medical necessities. We seek to improve the quality of life for children so that they can gain better movement, overcome isolation, improve their self-esteem and play a larger part in the society around them,be that family or school.
We also offer one to one counselling sessions to support parents and carers. This includes a confidential listening service over the telephone, as well as more formal sessions with trained counsellors. Further details can be found on the attached flyer.
The organisation also support BCP Council in developing the local offer. For more information contact dan@thedcf.org
