Self-care apps for Young People

Public Health Dorset alongside healthcare partners has researched and reviewed free wellbeing apps that are specifically designed to support young people.

The project aimed to create a curated list that:

  • Directs young people aged 11 - 25 so they know where to go to access wellbeing apps (NB these are not a substitute for clinical assessment/intervention or to be used in a crisis).
  • Informs parents/guardians/care givers/family members - to know where to signpost and/or to gain information themselves.
  • Advises teachers & youth workers - to know where to signpost and/or to gain information themselves.

With the so many apps available in the digital world, finding trusted and free to use options takes time and patience – the choice can be overwhelming. Creating a collection of tried and tested apps and hosting it centrally on Our Dorset, ensures that young people have access to the best resources available. The list focussed on providing safe, quality apps that were varied in their offering and free of charge.
