Boscombe Connect is a service for adults of all ages and varying needs including people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and physical disabilities. We promote independence and support people to work towards their individual goals and outcomes.
The service offers a lively and diverse environment. A wide range of activities are available to support people to achieve their goals and outcomes, including art and crafts, pottery, jewellery making, painting, flower arranging, cookery sessions, music and singing.
There is also a computer suite where people can learn computer skills and use computers with specialist support. The service has a dance group that performs in local shows and photography groups who display and sell their work. There is also a book club, discussion groups (both men's and women's) and a 'working group' where clients have a say in working developments.
Clients are supported to access the community and attend local 'friendship' groups, gym and swimming sessions at local sports centres, and the service has an allotment where they grow vegetables, fruit and flowers.
Bathing services are offered in the bathroom on site, and there are laundry facilities. Prices for this additional support service are available on request.
The service offers daily support to carers, and can arrange transport for their loved ones to attend if required. It also provides carers with informal signposting and advice.
