Downright Perfect is a registered charity supporting children and young people with Downs Syndrome and their families in Dorset.

We support families from the moment they receive their babies’ diagnosis by providing maternity units across Dorset with packs of information and goodies to distribute to new parents. We also offer one to one meet ups for parents with one of our parent trustees, organise parent social workshops and subsidise counselling for those who need more formal mental health support.

A key part of our work is to support parents and carers to access early intervention services for their child such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. We offer financial grants to help with the cost of accessing such therapies, run parent workshops on key topics regarding development and engage with local medical and education professionals to help them support our members.

We run fortnightly pre-schoolers groups at which we organise for professionals to come in to provide advice to parents and carers. We also organise events and day trips to create opportunities for our children to meet and play together and for their families to support each other."
