Support for children aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Preparing for adulthood - learning and training

The law requires all young people in England to continue in education or training until at least their 18th birthday. By remaining in education, career and life outcomes for young people are improved.

We want to support all young people to gain the knowledge, experience and skills that they require to enable them to live a happy and fulfilled life. For some this will mean staying at school or moving into further or higher education and for others it may mean undertaking work based (vocational) training.

All education providers must support young people who have SEND and BCP Council have a Post 16 Graduated Response Document that lists the types of help and support students can expect from schools and colleges.
