Most people will have the chance to gain work experience during their time at school or college. This will sometimes be for just a day or two and sometimes it will be for a number of weeks or months.

Most people who do work experience are not paid, instead young people work for an employer, for a period of time, to learn about the job or business and gain new skills, confidence and meet new people. This experience will be really helpful when they start thinking about working in the future.
