Support for children aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

SEND survey 2024

We would like to thank all of you who took the time to complete our SEND Annual Survey. The survey is now closed and we are busy analysing the results! This year 133 Parent and Carers and 16 Children and young people responded.

Whilst we await the final results, we can share the following headlines with you that will inform our action plans:

The Children and Young Person’s survey tells us that:

  • Too many children and young people do not feel included in the decisions about their support.
  • Too many children and young people have experienced bullying. Of those who experienced bullying, over half did not receive any help.
  • 50% of Children and Young People do not know where they can get careers advice.

The Parent and Carer Survey tells us that:

  • Too many children and young people have been unable to get all the help and support they need.
  • Parents/carers are not happy with how people work together to meet their child or young person’s needs.
  • The level of communication from people supporting parents/carers is not sufficient.
  • Parents/carers do not feel confident and supported in planning for their child or young person’s future.
  • Since 2021, more parents/carers feel that their views have been included in their child/young person’s support plan.
