How to contact a SEND Case Officer
In addition to the launch of a Communication Standards charter in the SEND Service, we are also using the Microsoft Teams Booking App which allows you to book an appointment with your SEND Case Officer.
The link to your Case Officer’s booking slots is available next to your child's school below.
An appointment slot is for 15 minutes, so we have created some top tips for making the most of your time:
- prepare for your appointment by writing a list of questions you want to cover and any information you wish to discuss;
- consider whether there is anyone else you need to speak to prior to your appointment, eg, if your query is regarding the progress of your child or young person at school/college, would it be more beneficial to contact their education setting in the first instance;
- consider whether there is a formal process required to address your query, eg, if you are wishing to request a different setting for your child or young person, would requesting an early annual review with your child/young person’s education setting be more appropriate;
- is the information you require already available on the SEND Local OfferLocal OfferA local authority website resource that holds information on services and provision for children and young people with SEN and disabilities across education, health and social care and leisure.: The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole SEND Local Offer - BCP Council
You can also reach your case officer via email using the format of: name.surname@bcpcouncil.gov.uk
