BCP Council offers a range of home to/from school transport solutions to young people that meet our eligibility criteria. The transport solution offered will be comparable with those appropriate for a child of similar age, taking into account any additional needs. Examples include a travel pass for use on public transport, a seat on a dedicated school bus, minibus or taxi, with enhanced accessibility and the support of a passenger assistant where necessary, a fuel reimbursement or a personal travel budget.

We have a new Home to School transport app to make the whole application process far easier for you. It will allow you to track the progress of your application as it is assessed by BCP Council colleagues. You will receive email notifications at key stages of your assessment process. Home to School transport app
Children and young people up to the end of year 11:
Transport for pupils with SEND is not automatically granted. If your child is of statutory school age and attends the nearest appropriate school or placement as recommended by the council, applications for assistance will be considered according to criteria laid out in the Home to School transport policy.

Students aged 16 plus:
Students aged 16 to 25 may qualify for assistance with transport if they meet certain criteria. Details of criteria, links to application forms and other helpful advice about school and college transport can be found here.
